KTMs are built to go fast on bad roads, and they are very good at it. The bad roads are less polite. Here is what we would fit first to a new adventure KTM, cheapest insurance first.
1. A headlight guard
Stones off a gravel road love a headlight, and replacing a modern KTM headlight costs a lot more than the guard. Headlight guards.
2. Crash protection
Crash bars and a bash plate protect the engine, radiators and bodywork in the tip-over every adventure rider has eventually. Shop protection.
3. A side stand foot
The standard foot sinks into soft ground, grass and hot tar. A wider one is a small part that saves you from picking the bike up in front of your mates.
4. Luggage
Hard luggage for long tours, soft bags if you ride the rough stuff, and a small bag for the things you need without stopping. Shop luggage.
5. Comfort
A better seat or a seat cushion turns a sore 300 km into a happy 600 km. Comfort upgrades.
